Brit Spends Her Hard Earned $$$

According to new reports, Britney has spent a lot of dough in the last year. Brit’s conservators had to file legal papers a few days ago detailing her spending during 2008 – and she’s been handing the $$$ out left, right and centre. Here’s an easy breakdown of the bills paid between February and December ‘08…

• $285,594 in mortgage payments
• Rent (Malibu): $105,000
• Household repairs: $49,387
• $5,998 for decorations, including $3400 for Christmas lights
• Child support to K-Fed: $178,818
• Security: $447,634
• $188,556 on assistants and other employees
• $1.06 million in “miscellaneous business expenses.”
• Legal fees: Over $3 000 000! Including
$625,000 to K-Fed’s lawyer,
referred to as “Federline Fees”.

Total Expenses for those 11 months:
$10,116,678.23.

I thought Daddy Spears was supposed to be putting Britney on a budget as conservator to ensure that she didn’t spend all her hard-earned money – did B spend 3 MILLION DOLLARS ON LAWYERS before Jamie took the reins?!

Eardley Demands Jury Trial

Before I start: Where can I find a picture of this guy?!
Jon Eardley – the attorney who tried to get Britney out of the conservatorship that has, in the long run, cost her her constitutional rights and priveleges – was recently ordered to stay away from her for 3 years.

TMZ has obtained courts documents filed by Eardley claiming that the trial was unfair and he is therefore demanding a new trial with jury. Personally I think he’s right – let a group of people decide what’s right and wrong instead of one person.

Lutfi Trial Will Go On

As I mentioned previously, Osama Lutfi as well as Jon Eardley have both been slapped with restraining orders for trying to undermine the conservatorship – which Lutfi is appealing. Neither can have any contact with Britney or any of her immediate family for the next 3 years – but that won’t stop Lutfi’s trial from going forward.

For those who don’t remember:
In February Lutfi filed a lawsuit against a number of the Spears clan – Britney’s mom Lynne for defamation of character in regard to her book Through the Storm, her dad Jamie for alleged assault in January 2008, and Britney herself for “management fees” he claims he is owed.

Well according to ContraCostaTimes, the trial has been postponed until next year. Quote:
“Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian scheduled the trial of Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi's lawsuit for March 8, 2010. Attorneys for Jamie Spears, the singer's father, said his client is considering bringing a countersuit, while a lawyer for Lynne Spears, the entertainer's mother, said he may seek to dismiss the defamation claim against her on grounds it interferes with her free- speech rights. However, attorneys on all sides also told the judge they will see if the case can be resolved with the help of a private mediator.”

If he can prove that Lynne fabricated that chapter in her book, and that Jamie did in fact assault him – then by all means go on and get what you can out of them. What would be great though is if people stopped trying to take advantage of Britney and her money. She’s worked hard for it and should be able to have it for her boys and any future family she may have. It really is unacceptable that Lutfi continues to try and suck money out of the situation, but what’s worse is that her own father is taking $18 000 a month and more of her hard-earned cash to pretty much be a father. It’s a warped situation.

Let’s hope they settle out of court, if for no other reason than to keep the stress out of Britney's life – and save her some more legal bills!

Retraining Order Granted to JAMIE

Well as you all may know, Britney’s team have been trying to get permanent restraining orders against Osama Lutfi, Britney’s ex-manager, and Jon Eardley, the attorney Britney left voice messages for in January asking for his help. Well the courts granted the Spears’ wishes on Tuesday 28 April.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb ruled that both men had to keep at least a 100 feet distance from Brit’s home, work, car or family until April 28, 2012. A similar order was placed on Adnan Ghalib, Brit’s ex boyfriend, last month. He is currently also being sued by a process server who he ran over with his car in an attempt to escape being served the papers. To view the legal papers courtesy of E! Online, click here.

As happy as I’m sure Daddy Spears is that all this has happened, I wonder if he saw what’s came next. Just one day after the ruling, Sam Lutfi has filed an appeal challenging the ruling.

Lutfi’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, explains to E! News:
“There was absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Britney Spears was suffering substantial emotional distress as required by the statute. In fact, the evidence was just the opposite—it was that she was reaching out for Sam's help, and all Sam did was get her a lawyer. There is no evidence of threats or stalking or anything whatsoever. We believe the appellate court will overturn the ruling. Restraining orders were created for stalkers and for people who make threats, and truly the only evidence that existed in the whole case was that Sam sent 10 text messages to the hairdresser—none of which were threatening or a vulgar word or mean or anything else.”

Freedman continued to explain how his client was simply looking out for Spears best interests, and how he does not believe Britney wants the order at all:
“Sam got her a lawyer, and facilitated his sister, and she requested getting her a cell phone. If Britney Spears wanted this restraining order herself then why didn't she testify, come to court, send a letter to the judge or do anything?”

This comes after a judge previously decided and ruled that Britney “lacks the capacity to testify” against Lutfi and Eardley.

Britney: My Father Threatened To Take My Kids

It all started a few weeks ago when JFX Online revealed a short recording of a voice message allegedly left by Britney for Jon Eardley on 19 January 2009 at 1.34am. The rushed message and whispery voice made complete sense since Jamie Spears made it known in court that she is not allowed to make her own phone calls or have her own cellphone. This would be a good time to point out that she is a 27 year old woman. The message stated:
“Hi this is Britney Spears. I want Jon Eardley and John Patterson to represent me as co-appointed attorneys for my best interests and my best wishes. Thank you, bye.”

Things were pretty quiet after that as the site announced that ,for legal reasons, they could not reveal any other possible recordings they may or may not have had. Until now.
A few days ago the site went public with another message, again left in the early hours of the morning (12.29am), this time on 21January 2009. It’s pretty incriminating and is quickly making it’s way around the web, including a post on Perez Hilton. In the message, Britney states that her father has threatened to take her children away should she not stick to his rules. Quote:
“Hi, my name’s Britney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times that, you know, he’ll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything and that things will be the same as far as my custodial time. That’s it, bye.”
